I developed a love of photography in college. I'd spend hours in the dark room developing rolls of film and printing shots. I genuinely felt magical to me. I was particularly inspired by a desire to capture the raw energy of live music and brought my old Praktica 35mm camera to a lot of gigs. Pre-digital, and still figuring things out, this produced very mixed results.
The digital era really opened the process up to me and allowed me to learn much faster.
In recent years, I've fallen out of the habit of bringing my camera to gigs, it's too easy to resort to using your phone to attempt to capture a gig, but lets face it, it never comes close.
